Good Morning Everyone!
I know it's been a few weeks since I've written, so I just wanted to touch base with everyone again. Kevin is doing good, but with that there is really no new news to tell. When I talk to him he feels like he's living the movie "Groundhogs Day". For those of you who have never seen it, it's basically when the guy wakes up he lives the same day over and over again.
Kevin usually gets up and goes to work by 7:00am, and when he feels ambitious, he'll go work out before that. He has a PT test this weekend, so he's trying to stay in shape, and is excited to see how he comes out with that. He's been working in a shop during the day. He works on the trucks as they come in from the different missions to make sure they are ready to go back out again, and also does alot paperwork to keep track of his guys. He's definitely putting in some long days and I think it's starting to wear on him. On a good day he will get done working at 7:00 pm (12 hour day), but lately they seem to push them until about 10pm. He'll get back to his room, and have a little down time for about an hour before he goes to bed and does it all again. The unit he is replacing is still there, but should be leaving. soon. Kevin is definitely ready for them to go. He said that they're being lazy and it's kind of getting on his nerves. :) I've attached a picture of Kevin standing by one of the trucks he was working on. A couple weeks ago, one of the wive's office that she works for collected a lot of different things to send over to the troops. (hot chocolate, cereal, toothepaste, toilet paper, games...the list goes on) Myself and 2 of the army wives boxed up all the goodies and sent them over to the guys. There are 3 different platoons, so we split it all up so everyone could get some. I think we had over 25 boxes to send them! Kevin's group probably got about 8 boxes or so to share. It was SO much fun, and he really enjoyed getting the boxes!! This next month, one of the schools has adopted them and we'll be sending them valentines day goodies. It's really has been alot of fun to send those things to them. The guys love getting mail, so it definitely makes their day.
Everything else is going good here. I'm staying really busy with work, which definitely helps the time go fast. Kevin's dog, Goo, is also doing great and is really enjoying life here. I think he's getting pretty spoiled - but it's been fun!! :)
